FIRST LOOK: LCD Models Pagani Huayra R!

LCD Models is back with a first look at their upcoming 1:18 track-focused hypercar, the Pagani Huayra R!  This lovely example featuring full access and the initial details many collectors crave.  And those that don’t support composite models, the exterior side panels are crafted in metal, even though this truly isn’t accurate to the original car.  If LCD Models continue at this pace, they will surely gain some serious market share.  AUTOart, you have some serious competition here.  This is GREAT for collectors!  We’ll issue more on the new LCD Models Pagani Huayra R when available.

    “This is GREAT for collectors!”

It certainly is. Hopefully it’ll not only light a fire under Autoart, but also Almost Real who have been stalling releasing Pagani Zondas for what seems like about 10 years now. If LCD start on doing Zondas they’ll sell as many as they can make I’d reckon.

    • DS Team says:

We can tell you with 100% certainty the AR Zonda is coming. In fact, a sample is already in the mail for us to see.

      • Paolo says:

I heard that the price of AR is more than 400USD. I think LCD is a better choice

        • DS Team says:

Yes and no. It all depends on the level of detail one wants in their final example. At this point, we don’t what these next entries from LCD Models will be priced at, and we’re willing to bet it won’t be nearly as close as two of their lastest supercars releases. As for AR Zonda, the team will action a complete review and honest feeling based on what we receive in the mail. More to come!

      • ATEOTD says:

Would you believe I came to this site this morning hoping against hope there would be some Almost Real Pagani news? When I saw a Pagani on the front page, I almost fell out o my chair (before I realized it was an LCD). But this is good news.

      • ATEOTD says:

Do you know which of the Zonda variants they sent you?

      • Ollie says:

That’s great, but they released samples ages ago at toy fairs, and collectors are STILL waiting. The time to market is ridiculously slow and they are serious danger of missing the boat and seeing their investment almost completely wasted if other manufacturers beat them to the punch. As Paolo says, the prices will be extreme and jacked up even more with the supposed justification of a fancy box that’ll sit in the cupboard collecting dust. LCD is a breath of fresh air and hope for collectors. Hopefully they can continue to release quality models at a reasonable price point for a while at least.

        • DS Team says:

Yes, AR has definitely lost some steam, they definitely over promised and underdelivered at times. Though having them around and relevant is better than not, and we’re surely not discontinuing what AR can deliver, even if it doesn’t align with everyone’s timeline. And LCD isn’t proven either, what has been presented in largely grey-wear samples.

      • David says:

Will it finally go on sale?

  2. Karsten says:

GREAT news indeed. And with LCD you can count on quality that really happens. Almost Real have gone very very quiet, not even their Huayra Roadsters seem to be making an appearance any time soon. Does anyone know when LCD’s Huayra BC will be released?

  3. Ole Andre says:

This has to be one of the best news for us that collect Paganis. And i guess it would save us atleast 150-200 euro comper to the BBR model with no openings

    • Sponge says:

Their Zonda HP Barchetta will cost about 350€ so we can expect the same price range for this one. Still, It’ll be 100% cheaper and better than both the AutoArt and BBR versions

  4. Tomcatters says:

“If LCD Models continue at this pace, they will surely gain some serious market share.”

Well, first they have to release new models though. Huayra BC or Toyota Century are still not available despite being announced quite some time ago.

I still have way higher hopes in LCD than AR, at least they do show greywear prototypes everytime they announce something, I just hope they actually get things out in a timely manner and not just these juicy preview pics to drool over.

  5. David Carter says:

Do collectors really NEED another Pagani-aren’t there enough models of this already?

    • James says:

I think the response you see here is enough to justify that ;)

    • DS Team says:

Valid point. We do wish brands would broaden their supercar assortment, but as mentioned below, any Pagani coming to market seems to attract much attention!

    • SamtheCat says:

You’re joking, right? Pagani is one of the most underrepresented brands there is in scale. And this is a complete new model, not just a recolour or the n^th version of a BMW with slightly different trim. If you want Zondas (not R) You have either a couple of models from budget brands, in low quality, or super expensive and incorrect Peako, witht he exception of the overpriced AR after maaaany years, or a single version from LCD. And Huayra’s are only in a silghly better possition. And forget about any special variation unless you resort to Peako again.

  6. Paolo says:

It would be perfect if the hub could be removed like Enzo.

    • Mario says:

      I agree with you.If they don’t have this function, I don’t think I have the meaning to buy,Because I’ve collected autoart’s Zonda R.

      • SamtheCat says:

As much as I like that function in my models, in the end it’s not worth it, since it makes the wheel set way flimsier and delicate, the centre lock would probably be either oversized or not fit well, the thread suffers over time, and it would mean a significant amount of the cost for something that doesn’t really offer that much of an improvement. So, not getting the model just for that reason, when the majority of model cars don’t have that feature either, is, and sorry for being this frank, plain stupid.

  7. Justin says:

I sure hope they move those mirrors to the proper locations before production. If you take a look at the Huayra R initial renderings and 1:1 design model, you’ll notice that the mirrors are positioned on the front fenders. On the current running model, they can be found mounted to the doors. LCD seems to be killing it here, but the incorrect mirror positions would drive me nuts. Excited to see how it turns out and what the pricing will look like!

  8. Tung says:

Hopefully this isn’t going to 400USD

  9. Adam says:

I can’t wait for the Pagani huayra R I want the zonda R but have a hard time spending 1200.00 for it definitely will be in my collection hope to hear more info on the release date soon.

  10. Git says:
