Quebec-based Garage 73 has been appointed a Canadian retail partner for Amalgam Collection, the Bristol, UK builder of handmade large-scale models.

For Canadian collectors, the practical change is at the border rather than the workbench. Amalgam pieces ordered from abroad have historically arrived with a customs invoice at the door and a brokerage fee attached, on top of an exchange rate applied at whatever the card issuer decided that day. Through Garage 73, models are quoted at a single Canadian-dollar price with duties and taxes handled before shipping — no surprise invoice on delivery.

The second change is language. Garage 73 operates in both English and French, making Amalgam’s range available to Quebec and francophone collectors in their own language for the first time.

The first model through the partnership is the McLaren W1 in 1:18 scale, finished in Papaya Spark (ref. M6350-SC1). The full Amalgam range is available to order: 1:18 and 1:8 road and racing cars, 1:12 Formula 1 nosecones, and 1:4 steering wheels finished to the same standard as the cars. Every piece is built to order from the manufacturer’s own CAD data and signed off by the marque, in editions measured in hundreds rather than thousands — so most orders are commissioned rather than pulled from a shelf.

Garage 73 launched in 2025 and specializes in curated premium 1:18 and 1:12 collector models, working directly with manufacturers including KK-Scale, Polistil, LCD, AUTOart, Exoto and Kyosho. The company is based in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, and ships across Canada and the United States.
