I bought a damaged GP replicas 312T2 in 1:18 at less than 60€ and fixed it. But honestly these, and I’m referring to 1:18, are not 200€ plus models. They (GP Replicas) maybe captured the shape right, but in terms of details they’re just not very detailed. As far as I can see from the photos, even the 1:12 312T2 is not impressive. Among other things the brakes cooling ducts are just not realistic and just like the 1:18 model the engine air intakes in the nose have no depth. As this was my first experience with resin models, I’d say I was not impressed. The 312T2, for example is one of the most iconic Ferrari F1 cars, but trapped in its showcase screwed to the base, 0 posability with its fixed everything, It’s a pretty sad thing. I just can’t fathom having an entire collection of these static sealed things in showcases.

That makes 2 of us. I don’t give a hoot for the reasons for model companies going resin/sealed/stuck wheels with the cars they produce. If it’s resin, sealed and non-rolling wheels, GP Replicas, among others will definitely be scaring me away. At least it’s more money in my pocket. Shame on Minichamps as well for recently taking the resin route regarding F1 models in 1/18

GP Replicas and Top Marques models (same company) are definitely cheap money grabs. Once you see them in person the inaccurate shape, out of scale parts, and terrible finishing is beyond obvious but if you’re actually holding one of their junky models in hand at least you haven’t been completely scammed by the criminal who runs the company whose website is nothing but a pre-order scam.

I will add that among the many things that I found disappointing on my 312t2 is the fact that there is no transparent gloss layer to seal and protect the decals. At the price point that model was in its new condition, it should be expected, in my opinion.
