GT Spirit is entering the television theme arena with their latest effort the Aston Martin DBS from the hit TV series The Persuaders! The show was filmed in various parts of Europe, France, Italy and England. It also stared Roger Moors (of James Bond fame) and Tony Curtis. Model is listed as coming soon, but we suspect a later Q4 or early Q1 2016 release.
GT Spirit New 1:18 Aston Martin DBS ‘The Persuaders!’

Are you kidding me? First Cult Scale and now this? Do we really need exact copies? There’s one of two possibilties here: either they are using each others molds or just copying them. And the same happened with the V8 Vantage (Autoart soon to follow). It just goes to show that collectors are not taken too seriously.
Well, I for one am somewhat excited by this. The 70s and 80s Aston Martin eras are not represented in 1/18 scale and I would love to add this and the V8 Vantage to my Aston collection, at the right price of course, given that these appear to be plastic with no opening doors etc. Mind you I’m not a serious collector and have to go for the budget model makes.
Well Frank, because I do have not seen neither the Cult Scale nor the GT-Spirit one in reality, the first question of importance would be if the quality and detailing is the same (For example the CMR V8 Saloon Series 3 is a small desaster, with at least three major errors, not to speak of the wheels… and missing detailing). Apart from this, I do agree that better a wider variaty in models or colours of the same brand would be in favour of the collectors.
According to pictures released, AUTOart is producing a V8 Vantage Series 2 1983 on, whereas the GT-Spirit one is definitely a Series 1.
Has anyone bought this or the cult model? Just wondering which to get? I can’t find any useful reviews of either.
