KengFai New 1:18 Toyota Alphard

We’re not sure who awakes one morning and suggests they crave a scale version of a minivan people hauler, though some manufacturers believe they do.   KengFai has recently released 1:18, diecast metal, opening Toyota Alphard in Black in RHD and LHD drive.  White is just around the corner with late April/May delivery.  Each will set you back about $250 CND.

The Toyota really isnt the most beautiful joice, but there are other vans available on scale, e.g. Mercedes Vaneo, recently the new Sprinter van by Norev, and all generations of the VW vans in different versions, including the latest T6 by NZG that was made model of the year in a German model magazine as far as I remember. Not too surprising when I look at DS’s current poll, we start looking at more and more niches. Shortage of new super/luxury subject matter, I suppose.

I must confess, I ordered this one! Just got back from a trip to Tokyo, where these are everywhere, and ive fallen for it’s awkward, over designed look. But I agree, it’s pretty niche.

Well, I’ve been craving and ordered this as well just waiting to receive it in the US. i like how they give u a option of left and right hand drive, that draws in more interest of buyers for the model. And it is the best scale van u can buy in 1/18 especially with the variety of functions and versatility u can do with it. but i think there getting carried away with pricing. u would really have to do your research to find the lowest price model. so far the cldc.store website is the cheapest with a price of $209.00 but I was impatient and ordered on eBay paying over $220.00.

The model is alright and I ordered it too..I like how they committed to the model and it is diecast with 360 access (fast becoming a rarity)…

If you have issues with this release, then you clearly aren’t one of their targeted audiences. The Alphard is the most popular MPV in Japan, China and most southern Asian countries.
