KK Scale has announced an all-new tooling: a 1990 Ferrari F40 Lightweight in 1:12 scale, arriving in August 2026. And Garage73.ca is now accepting pre-orders!
We had the announcement direct from KK-Scale this morning. It’s a first announcement -no backorders exist on either version yet.

THE REAR CLAMSHELL IS THE HEADLINE!
KK-Scale lists opening doors, engine hood and headlights. The photos tell you more than that. The entire rear clamshell hinges forward — wing and all — exposing the full engine bay: the twin-turbo V8, the intercoolers, the turbo plumbing, and the rear suspension with visible coilover springs. Not a lift-up panel over a moulded lump. The real thing.
Doors open onto a properly stripped cabin — gated shifter, sliding plexiglass windows, and the bare, hostile interior the F40 is loved for. Pop-up headlights operate. Red calipers sit behind the black five-spokes.
TWO VERSIONS:
KKDC120253 – Rosso Corsa
KKDC120254 – Black
And the Black exterior option deserves a second look!
Effectively, every F40 that left Maranello was Red. Non-Red examples exist, but they’re vanishingly rare — a Black F40 has near-mythic status among enthusiasts. KK-Scale offering it alongside the red isn’t an accident, and for plenty of collectors, it’ll be the one.

CANADA:
Garage73.ca works with KK-Scale directly, so both versions will be available to Canadian collectors on release — shipped from Quebec. No duties, no customs fees, no surprise charges at the door.
Pre-orders open now at Garage73.ca. First-run tooling with no existing backorder queue, so allocation is genuinely first-come.

Nice! A decent budget-friendly 1:12 that won’t break the bank!
Solid point on the exterior colour options, and until recently learned about the Black exterior.
I agree!
Ill update the website tonight with the pre-order infos.
Thanks!
