KK Scale New Mercedes SSK Trossi

KK Scale has released photos of their latest project the 1:18 Mercedes SSK Trossi.  SSK Trossi is definitely looking the part dressed in all Black.  The accenting chrome work looks rich too.  Note, model is shown in pre-production hand-sample, all KK Scale models are crafted in diecast metal and feature closed-body design.

About the SSK Trossi…  “The Mercedes SSK Trossi is a type from the series W 06 which appeared in the year 1926. With the abbreviation “SSK”, which stands for “Supersport Kurz”, this type came out with the known short chassis of 2950mm. Count Carlo Felice Trossi had in 1934 the idea of completely re-dressing a Mercedes-Benz SSk from 1930.  Also for this model series there were different engines, which corresponded in part to those of the type SS.

The different types of SSK were manufactured from 1928 to 1932 and were equipped with a six-cylinder engine with 6800 cm³ and a theoretical compression of 4.7: 1. The power of the engine was 120Hz (88kW) at 3000 / min. The overhead camshaft of the engine is driven by a king shaft. By connecting the front-mounted Roots fan, the power can be increased to 180 hp (132 kW) in the short term.”

Interesting, but WHY are KK Scale producing the exact same model in the exact same scale that TSM has recently released??? They haven’t even made it a little different as it was when restored and owned before Ralph Lauren bought it. This makes NO sense at all, and doesn’t benefit anyone regardless of different materials. This is just another “sealed” basic-simple detail model.
