So, after many years of speculation, a handful of Kyosho Ferrari models are going back into production in 2023. Such models are the 250 GTO in street and race trim, the classic and highly sort after F40 and Testarossa, and last but not least the F40 Competizione, which we believe never actually made it to production when originally declared. This is definitely some exciting news! Read or download your copy!
Kyosho Diecast & Resin 2023 Catalogue HERE
In this catalogue you can see that the F40 Competizione is Resin in 1:12 that going to be made by BBR for Kyosho
Nice catch!
How do you know that BBR is making the 1:12 model?
This is great news for me as I was on the hunt for an opening f40 but prices were crazy and all had zinc pest on them. Do we expect these will actually come in 2023. That’s one big catalogue to produce. Prob pic up the tesarossa as well.
not a zinc pest but paint rash. Huge difference, first is fatal to any die cast, second just looks bad and can be removed with a bit of effort. Old Kyoshos suffer from paint rash. Only zinc pest infected Kyosho model is e46 M3.
The fact they are doing the 1991 WRC Toyota Celicas in Diecast 1/18 is refreshing. But I’d be super pleased if they did Juha Kankkunen’s 1993 Toyota Celica (working pop-up headlights would be a bonus) and Didier Auriol’s 1995 Rally Corsica winning Toyota Celica in Diecast 1/18 too
Am I going to sell my Testarossa and F40 now before more people catch this? Hmmm :D
Such a great news. that was a good strategy for Kyosho in these days. I will be so pleased if i could complete my Ferrari’s collection. Hope for others Ferrari’s collectors to get them.
Please keep going lovely Kyosho.
For Kyosho to do, in FULLY OPENING DIECAST 1/18, the Ferrari 488 Pista and the 355 GTS w/working headlights, would be a God-send from Heaven
The F40 in the catalogue doesn’t look like one of the high end versions, it lacks the kevlar green-ish decals for example. Perhaps they will expand their offerings later on.
I think it’s their high end F40 but it’s just the base model. Kyosho also has a version called “lightweight”. I believe that has the green kevlar detailing
Nope, green composite in the front and back was added to a ‘standard’ hi-end F40 too. It’s a very intense shade compared to the real car’s brown-ish green. As it was never true to the original, so not having it is not such a big deal IMO. I’d love them to revisit this detail and make it the right shade this time around though.
it is high end version mold – it has opening fuel cap that standard version didn’t have. There are also more detail in front trunk, the same as in HE version. It just lacks this green decal you mentioned, but the mold itself seems to be from hi-end version.
I’m still very happy with 1:18 Kyosho Hi-End Ferrari F40 Lightweight version. I find it very interesting in terms of detailing and some interior materials. By the way, do you know that the model’s seats can be slit forward and backward? I did not know it for years until I accidentally saw this feature in some review of the model.
Correction: slit -> slid.
What could be the price of the F40 and the 1:18 testarossa?
Not sure. We’d guess the $300 range.
Thanks
