As we hinted in earlier news articles, Kyosho is back with a couple of diecast metal examples with full 360 access. These classics represent a lovely era of cars, they include the Austin Healey 3000 in 1:18 scale. Colours include Black, English White, and Healey Blue. This is a reproduction, and as Kyosho explains “modified tooling”. The Austin Healey 3000 is set to arrive in October. Suggested retail $198 US.
There is more! Kyosho is also presenting the all-new 1:18 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint and Veloce. Colours for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint include Blue and White, while the Veloce will come in Red. All three are scheduled to arrive in October 2021. Suggested retail $220 US.

Once again, it’s great to see Kyosho return to full 360 access models with opening parts and super scale detail in this lovely looking Austin Healey. But wait, haven’t they already made this model?

Yes, it is!
“This is a reproduction, and as Kyosho explains “modified tooling”. ”
It clearly states a reproduction with modified toolings. What that defines we’re not sure.
The quality of kyosho makes us more and more disappointed. I have no interest in buying new kyosho products.
Yup, not impressed with either of these. The Healey is really showing its age, and the Alfa doesn’t look a whole lot better. Wonder if they’ll still suffer from paint rash? I’m not willing to gamble on it.
We still believe it’s better than most products available today, especially when you factor in most are static examples.
I’ll respectfully disagree. Chunky doglegs and poor fit around the doors on the Healey; crude bonnet hinges, a plasticky interior, and poor chrome work (grille and window surrounds in particular) on the Alfa. Neither of those models are worth half the asking price IMO.
The dashboard of the Giulietta with that “flat” instrumentation rendered with a sticker is horrible. And the sliding windows of the Veloce are also quite ugly. I hope that these are just prototypes and that they still need to be refined, because otherwise I won’t be spending my money.
Looking for a blue veloce Alfa Romeo Sprint 1/18? Does it exist?
