$265 US for a model with dog leg hinges…. yeah that’s a hard pass
If it were the 1993 and 1995 Celica Rally cars instead, I don’t mind the dog leg hinges at all. Just as long as it’s fully opening Diecast and none of this sealed/resin BS
I believe those are considered sleeve hinges and not doglegs. As for the subject, well historically it’s a very important rally car. It would be nice if Kyosho developed on the theme of classic rally cars with some models not yet represented in good quality die cast. The next 2 generations of Celica would be a great addition to their line up.
I agree with you on all points.
Pop-up lights are wrong looking. They are too high. Look is totally wrong!
Love the actual cars (grew up in the 1980’s and early 90’s) but my experience with Kyosho models is mixed: they tend to look awesome from afar but get any closer than those bird-eye shots and one cannot help but notice the questionable or outright shoddy quality of casting and assembly: there are gaps everywhere, some panels are warped, and it seems that the busy livery are simply meant to hide those defects that would be otherwise fairly visible and evident. So, while I am excited for these models, will have to wait and see how they turn out in reality before trying to purchase them… BTW, if anyone has different experiences with recent rallycars Kyoshos, (-specifically various Lancias as my older Ferrari F40 and Testarossa made by Kyosho 10 or more years ago have NONE of these issues and are well-made indeed), do feel free to let me know… Cheers!
