It didn’t take long for official LCD Models new images of the 1:18 Pagani Huayra BC in White to surface. The array of photos does highlight a lot of wins, especially those on the interior textures and detailing. We’re yet to find one at near retailing pricing of past successes, this example is near doubled. What happened?
Product# TBD
What happened? „Greed“ is the most likely answer.
Ah, I think it’s not so-sided. The older Paganis, Civics, etc did seem very cheap for what they offered. I could imagine that they barely made any profit with these and offered them “cheap” to get a foot in the door with collectors. I only have their Huayra Roadster in purple and briefly had a Civic until I got an AA model for a very good price. Both LCD models are very well made and worth their price, but I do have to say that I need to see some quality and QC improvements along with their steep price increase, otherwise I’m not that keen on buying new models from them.
sorry but im not to impressed with the interior, the stering wheel and dashbpoard looks shabby
Alternatives are BBR sealed resin or the up-coming AUTOart (or hope that Almost Real will do it later). So what do you opt for (if you care to have a model of the car)?
I think I’ll wait for a proper video review before I decide. I was hoping this would be my first LCD model but now, I’m not so sure.
To all of you that think the price of this model car is to much, the answer is very easy. Dont by it. I just got mine and in my mind its the best model car in my collection to date. My collection is now 300+. And i have model cars from 20-1500 dollars. So stop complaing about the price. And TOLU, there are videos of the Pagani BC Roadster. Just google it.
First, off no one said the price of the model is too much. We’ll leave that for the individual to define. We are asking a simple question, how did the LCD Models jump from a very attractive price point in such a short period of time? Some said they were the savour for the hobby, possibly the best thing since sliced bread… the last nail in AUTOart’s coffin we believe we heard from one… now less than a year later almost on par with AUTOart price wise That is all.
I do agree with all of that. I think and maybe i am wrong, the reason is that after the covid situation in the world, the prices of everything has gone way up. As i said, maybe i am wrong, but i think that is one of the reasons. The prices are still lower then AA. And i would by a diecast over a plastic model every day.
Maybe. But one of the team members just received the Well 1:18 Audi RS6 Avant (C7) – features: diecast metal, 360 access and overall an exceptional model. Price $138 US!
Pricing for the Super A Evo9 currently on review was 242 € !
Prices are only going to go up further. The Zonda Barchetta will be priced much higher than the BC Roadster. When collectors are getting so greedy post Covid why shouldn’t manufacturers get a piece of the slice?
I’m sure models like the Huayra roadster and 600LT were priced reasonably to establish a name for themselves. Seeing the success they had with those models it’s not surprising they are following the footsteps of Almost Real.
As for the model the motor is finished in carbon decals unlike the regular roadster. The exhaust looks much nicer too.
The choice of colour for the interior (orange) is quite strange. Seriously what were they thinking?!?! That said, I’d still get one as I’m certain it’ll be far better than Autoart’s effort.
Not sure. See above post. The Well Audi RS6 Avant (C7) came out roughly at the same time as this here said model.
I agree that their initial pricing was a marketing strategy. Their initial sample of the Huayra Roadster had a clear carbon finish over their purple colour. That went, probably as a cost cutting measure to be pitched against AA at a more competitive price – successfully.
You may see them as following in Almost Real´s footsteps, which, however, always were a larger size. But yes, I see the pattern, too. With offerings as the Super A Evo 9 and the Well Audi, I am not sure if 300€ can be justified. Crossing the 300€ threshhold I´ll put up with little less than perfection. It´s AUTOart territory, I sent back their Huayra Roadster last year because of that. Yet I would not rule out that they have learned a lesson and their´s can be better now (at the same price or less) – just see their Bugatti EB110 SS. In other words, buying a model of the Huayra Roadster BC is not a no-brainer.
In Vietnam, the price of LCD models is really good as the Huayra Roadster BC in particular costs around 192 USD. Even though I’m a big fan of Pagani, I’ll patiently wait till I come back to Vietnam to buy them and not buy them here in the EU where the price is 300Euro ~ 330 USD without shipping.
That 20 sticker is so annoying. Would look so much better plain
