LS Collectibles Maserati Levante

LS Collectibles gives us a first look at their new 1:18 Maserati Levante.  Passing Maserati approval this resin and sealed replica will be on sale late Q2/Q3 2017.  Nice to see an alternative to the higher priced BBR version.  But their direction does beg us to ask the question, is there really a demand for scale models in SUVs?  Or would this time and energy  be better suited to focus on models collectors really want?  Let us know your thoughts?

Not a big fan of SUV… I prefer sport and hypercars !

I doubt the typical driver of an ‘SUV’ is a keen model collector. Here in Ireland they tend to be driven by those without the skill required for even a Nissan Micra…..

I think their will be demand enough for resin.
These SUV’s from sport car brands will sell, although their will be less demand for a Maserati than a Porsche as their are more Porsche collectors. The chance you’ll see someone really wanting only one of these is probably smaller, although I like this and the F-pace really and that comes from someone that would always choose the wagon/station above MPV/SUV/etc. I would only buy these, if I had others to put next to it. A complete Maserati fleet would be really nice, but I haven’t even started on that….

Not a fan of SUV. Already too many on the road, LOL so I don’t want them in my collection.

To be perfectly honest I don’t think I’d ever consider buying an SUV model even if I owned that particular car, which I wouldn’t anyways as im not an SUV kinda person.

I’d expect something like this to be available at the car dealers in the gift / accessories shop and not aimed at the collectors market.

And I’d definitely not buy a sealed resin body model.

The problem is not so much the SUV’s as the the ones driving them. As far as bad reputation goes for driving paticular brands, SUV’s are closing the gap rapidly. What puzzles me most is why the likes of Maserati, Porsche and Aston Martin even want to produce such a vehicle. Cobbler stick to your last. These cars are not about sports/utility, they are about luxury, status and ego. Yet, I did buy some models of them. Simply because they looked good. Silly, ain’t it.
