Maisto has added another colour to their assortment of the diecast 1:18 Corvette Stingray Z51. Red/Black is their new option to the earlier release of Silver/Black. The Exclusive Series provides the collector with a more rounded model over opening price point Maisto brand with enhanced paint, wheel detail and more. A nice alternative to the high priced AUTOart release.

While this version is nicer than the base model, I wish Maisto would step it up a notch or two more and make an “extra special” line of models? Add carpeting inside and slightly more intricate detailing like an open front grille, painted rubber window moldings at the edge of the roof, better finish on the exhaust system instead of the too bright chrome and better hinges for doors and hatch. I have the silver car and I like it but I would gladly pay 50-75$ more to get these features and have a nice replica of an iconic car such as this one. Or maybe Autoworld should pick this up and make one or twelve??
