Apart from the congenital lack of glass on the doors (Solido manages to do it, who knows why Maisto never does) it is shameful that a model, even a relatively cheap one, still exhibits similar hinges on the openings.
Not worth the expense, for me.
As usual, they save the windowed doors for models intended for the chinese market

Be nice, play fair.
It seems that in maisto’s models those dog leg hinges get bigger with each new release…
I would like to have one in gloss black, with glass on the door.
I think maisto and bburago is secretly owned by autoart. Ofcorz they dont intend it to make it more high end in cheap price or else brands like auto art will go bankruptcy.
LOL!
Many people don’t seem to get the role that Bburago/Maisto plays in the model car market. They purposedly produce their models partially as toys. Although this sounds very bad in the ears of grown up collectors, for young people it’s the transition between toys and collector model cars. How many of us didn’t start their collection with a Bburago or Maisto model? I’m sure their models started a vast number of really beautiful collections. That’s the reason why they have to produce their models with strong dog leg hinges. Chances are huge that their models will be raced in the living room first before ending on a shelf. That fact that they combine this necassary strenght for a toy with really accurate looking diecast model cars at a price range that is within the ‘birthday present range’ for kids and with a worldwide easy accesible distribution, is the real magic of what they bring to the market. I will always appreciate that and I still have a few 30 year old Bburago / Maisto models in my collection to this day out of respect and because some of them actually look good even next to high end models. I think they did a really good job on this Revuelto as well, so I would ask the haters to take a closer look and see what’s really inside a Bburago or Maisto box: the start of a new collection somewhere in the hands of a kid that will race it in the living room first and still find out it isn’t broken after all these adventures. The moment that kid puts it on a shelf, it’s no longer a toy but it became a model car and a new collection has begun. For those who already are collectors and can’t see through the dogleg hinges: just leave it closed and you won’t see them. You would probably spend a lot more money on model cars that don’t open at all. Just don’t expect that everything is tailormade just for you.
Well said.
