Minichamps Future Porsche Assortment 2024

It seems Minichamps has gone all in on Porsche models in 2024.  This list contains five models in various colours.  Each is offered in 1:18 scale, metal and sealed or metal and opening – unfortunately, we don’t know which DNA now…  It seems Minichamps can’t figure out where they want to play!  But many enjoy a good Porsche example in their collection, let’s hope there are more positives than negatives presented here.

A detailed scale model of a modern Porsche 911 is always interesting.
Minichamps have already made a step forward with its latest full-opening models (Minichamps, please hear us, collectors, please hear our loud NO to sealed 1:18 models!) with perforated grilles (at last!!!) and accurate front trunk’s hinges.
There are just a few tiny details to make these models absolutely desirable:
    – the head and tail lights _must_ use transparent plastic, not just painting as if it is a 1:43 model
    – a little bit more love to the interior is highly welcome: more tiny and accurate details of the plastic interior (such as dashboard, door cards, seats, ceiling) will look much better while does not require a lot of extra effort.

Fantastic news from Minichamps and I fully concur with Vitaly D above.

The biggest challenge Minichamps face is from Norev, who are making beautiful 911 992 models with fully opening features at less cost to the collector.

I can absolutely agree with my friend Vitaliy. Even if I don ´t collect Porsches anywhere near a complete line-up, some Porsches are milestones to be bought. This latest GT3 RS is such a car. So when I read in the comments on the review of the Norev that Minichamps would release a better all-open version, I immediately looked at photos and pre-ordered the first one on the list above (greatly contrasting colours for a track toy), of course in an opening version.

I only hope, that the opening parts will fit much better than on some more recent Minichamps (there were some really bad BMWs). Otherwise Minichamps will not be the answer to what Vitaliy (and I amongs many others) rightfully ask(s) of a model.

  4. Otto says:

“Minichamps would release a better all open version”… what?! The Norev GT3 RS is better in pretty much every aspect and costs half of the MC. And I reckon this will be the case for all of the Norev counterparts of the models Minichamps has announced.
