Not a hell of a lot going on at Minichamps for Week 3, 2015.  The Opel GT 1900 in Metallic Green is the only 1:18 scale piece to note.  Model is diecast and features opening doors and access to the motor.  Two other 1:43 models were announced: the 2013 BMW M3 DTM, BMW Team RBM, driven by Augusto Farfus; and 2014 Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team W05, driven by Nico Rosberg.

About the  Opel GT 1900…  “The introduction of a GT sportscar by Opel led to astonishment and excitement equally. A sports car did not fit the brand%u2019s image of Opel until then. The development of the Opel GT started in winter of 1963. Chassis, suspension, as well as the 1.1 liter engine were taken over from the Kadett B. The 1.9 liter CIH engine was taken from the Opel Rekord C and only fit the Opel GT by reshaping its engine hood. The cylinder head had to be lowered and moved to the front to ultimately fit the engine. On the 1965 Frankfurt car show the prototype was presented under the name Opel GT Experimental. Due to the old-timer regulation in Germany, the Opel GT is a historical car since 1998 and therefore is eligible for a H license plate.”
