New Colours Future Releases AUTOart

It is raining AUTOart models this week!  The team unveils a host of new colours of the product we’ve seen before, the exception is the 1:18 Honda Civic Type R (FK8) in Crystal Black Pearl, it is making an appearance in production form.  Damn, it does have a face only a mother could love.   Next, we have the 1:18 Lamborghini Centenario Roadster in Argento Centenario/Matt Metallic Silver. the colour combo here is absolutely ravishing!  The remaining three, all in 1:18 scale include Aston Martin DB11 in Morning Frost White, the Jaguar Lightweight E-Type in Silver and the McLaren 675LT in Napier Green.  If curious, all come from their composite and diecast series, each featuring 360 access too.

that Jag looks great in all colours, doesn’t it?
I still went for a green one.

Just got my Jag in Green colour, was pleasantly surprised – the Green tone is actually darker and a bit toned down/desaturated, than in most of the photos. Funny that when you shoot it with camera it automatically brightens in the photos.
Overall I’m satisfied with the model. Yes it’s a composite. Yes, it lacks that thicker, and still evenly spread layer of coating that we all used to get from AutoArt; there seems to be noticeable lack of final clear coating, or it is just very thin.
The shutlines are perfect, the roof closing operation is a bit bulky, id suggest opening the doors first – but actually no matter how accurate you close the roof, it may scratch the paint by the pivoting struts, so better not close it at all.
The steering column/rack seems very weak and someting in the construction cannot keep up when you try to steer the wheels using the steering wheel. Better do both – rotate steering wheel, and slightly help with your hands positioning the wheels, if you need the wheels positioned in some direction.
The hose delivering air to the intakes is just a solid plastic strut, not tube. Something small, but very noticeable, and gives an impression of rough detailing. The carbs look great though. Hoses/wiring – usual AutoArt level – nothing too special, but accurate enough.
    8/10.
