There’s a new player in town, Almost Real models. From what we gather Almost Real models are developed by Sums Model Inc. They currently produce scale models for some of the mainstream manufacturers we all know, Minichamps, Ebbro, and Tecnomodel are just some of the brands they touch under the Sums Model name.
Almost Real’s breath of assortment from their 2016 catalogue includes such marques as Range Rover, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, and Bentley. Base models are supposedly coming in DIECAST with opening bits, in both 1:43 and 1:18 scale. We did notice the catalogue is currently absent of any pre-production samples, only REAL is the theme here. Let’s hope Almost Real lives up to the hype. Fingers crossed!
Now that is good news. May the DIECAST counterrevolution defeat the sealed and resin revolution!
I am going to dance a jig.
Sounds too good to be true. Let’s check back when they have an actual model to show.
Errr, does anyone remember High Perforrmance Diecast and their Agera R?
They only had this one model, a facebook account with ever new updates on progress (including very promising samples) and their own website where you could pre-order the Agera R in three colours … and then they disappeared quietly never to be heard of again. Now, I´ll keep my enthusiasm for later and dance my jig when … or rather IF … they really come out with something decent. And being a Bentley enthusiast … I am not sure at all whether there is a market for fifty shades of Mulsanne with competition from Kyosho, Minichamps and Rastar.
HPD is still alive! Supposedly they should have a finished sample within the next few months.
Supposedly HPD is having technical issues with the Agera R, should release by the end of the year… it does suck though as I’ve bee waiting for it before it was even announced on this site. right around the Aa Agera release, didn’t buy it because I wanted the Agera R. hope they deliver.
Can you provide me with the contact info for Almost Real or Sums Model Inc.? I would like to contact about buying their models.
Thanks,
Steve
I got my hands on their models at the shanghai toy fair, really nice and they were telling me about their future models. Really excited about this!
So spill the beans, what is upcoming from the brand?
J.S. Coleman, I stand with you in the hopes of another diecast manufacturer to shore up the deficits of opening working pieces to have some finger fun with, and the freedom to pose in a variety of positions . Also, Alessandro……How about a little more detailed info of the model’s you got your hands on Thanks
