Norev New Vintage Race Transporters

This one comes fresh off the press! Within a week or two, the first of two vintage team transport trucks will be available for purchase.  The team spiriting the replicas is Norev.   Both are European exclusive and can be purchased via our site sponsors Little Bolide and CK Model Cars.  From what we gather the two products will come to market, the first featuring the Bartoletti Cobra Renntransporter Racing Team in Blue and the second featuring the Bartoletti Ferrari Renntransporter in Red.

The models themselves are 1:18 scale, diecast with sealed-body design, though the rear section is fully functional with removable wood ramps to aid is loading your precious cargo.  The Ferrari will ship with separate decal sheet, which will require installation by the end user.  The length of each model is just shy of 24 inches with ramps extended that grows to 32 plus inches.  That’s massive!!!  Suggested retail 299 Euro or $288US (minus VAT).  And no, the scale racers are not included with purchase.

    1/18s, I presume.

Did the Ford team use the truck at Le Mans in 1966? – could be a nice display of the winning trio

When first looking at them, I was sure they were 1:43 as they looked a little “cheesy”/cheap-looking to me. If I get the Ferrari one, the first things I’ll do will be black washing the grill and repainting the wheels (they look too plasticky as is).

But I like the idea of having these models available.

Actually, the Exotos in 1/43 are amazing models. I have this Bartoletti, with the GT40s in the photo from LeMans unloading, and it’s a great, detailed piece. Also, the earlier Ferrari transporters, not this but the Bartolettisfrom the 1950s. The detail is fantastic.
The grills on these scream “cheap.” It’s a shame.

And I’m sure that they’ll issue all three of these versions: Piper Attwood, Jagermeister, and Renault Mirage:

Pity they didn’t try the original 2 axle version as used by Team Lotus in 1961, on lease from the Scarab team who originally commissioned it.

  7. Daniel says:

Hmmm, not exactly the CMC Bartoletti standard of finish is it?
Surely seeing the crazy money CMCs Bartlotettis sell for now would have shown there is a market for these and they deserved a bit more effort?

  8. JM says:

Overpriced for this ‘”toy”where nothing of the parts can’t opened and with bad details!!!

  9. Glenn says:

I have recently just received this model (Ferrari Version), for the price I paid compared to the CMCs Bartlotettis at 1/4 the price, I fell the quality is good, yes opening items would be nice and detail even better but up goes the price for such things. You will buy car models with no opening doors etc. and pay i/2 as much as this model is worth. Overall I am very satisfied with the detail and quality, thanks.
