The last time we noted this brand was back in February 2019 with their 1:8 scale Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 1303. LeGrand is back with their new 1:8 diecast metal kit featuring the uber cool Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “Uhlenhaut Coupé”. Weighing in at just under 18 pounds and featuring 900 parts this assembly-required kit may just spark some interest! The street date is targeted for late 2023 with a retail price of around $1300 US.

What a gorgeous model! That price is out of my league, but I can see how assembling that would be a very satisfying project for someone who is good at model-making and could afford it.
I’m Looking forward to this one a lot. Back when Eaglemoss was failing, I was waiting for 300 SL parts. I thought about finishing that or getting this, whichever came sooner. I was able to finish the 300 SL with help from various places, including deicastsociety. I still want to do this one. They’ll look great side by side.
