About the Renault 5 Turbo Gr. 4 Tour de Corse…  “Jean Ragnotti is one of France’s most popular rally drivers. Long before Sébastien Loeb, he managed to build a name for himself. And it’s all thanks to his generous driving style! Loyal to the Renault brand, it’s no surprise to find him at the start of a Renault 5 Turbo Gr.4 in the 1980 Tour de Corse. At the end of the first day, “Jeannot” was battling it out for the top 5 among the Fiat 131 Abarths. At the start of the second Step, Ragnotti took the lead by up to 7mins over Bernard Darniche (Fiat 131). Later on, weather conditions blocked the road and Ragnotti found himself trying to clear it. A little later in the day, on SS14, he was unfortunately forced to retire due to a broken alternator. In the end, Jean-Luc Thérier (Porsche 911 SC) won the event!”
