The Koenigsegg CC850 is a remarkable hypercar, unveiled in 2022 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Koenigsegg’s first production vehicle, the CC8S, and the 50th birthday of company founder Christian von Koenigsegg. Blending the iconic design of the original CC8S with cutting-edge technology, the CC850 stands as both a tribute and a forward-thinking engineering marvel. Its design features clean, aerodynamic lines that echo its predecessor while incorporating modern enhancements, offering a seamless blend of past and present.

One of the standout features of the CC850 is its revolutionary Engage Shift System (ESS), which allows the driver to switch between a manual and an automatic transmission. This dual-mode gearbox gives enthusiasts the tactile engagement of a six-speed manual while offering the ease of a nine-speed automatic. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, the CC850 delivers an astonishing 1,385 horsepower, making it not just a nod to history but also one of the most powerful production cars in the world. The car is a rare mix of raw performance, nostalgic design, and forward-thinking innovation, making it highly sought-after among collectors.

This model from GT Spirit didn’t quite generate the excitement I believe it deserves, and that’s a bit surprising (1/3 the price of Fronti-Art). While GT Spirit is known to take a somewhat simplified approach when it comes to carbon fibre detailing—often opting for basic black elements—the model here presents exceptionally well, despite these minor shortcuts.

One of the standout features is the paintwork. The finish is solid and smooth, giving the model a premium, high-quality appearance. GT Spirit consistently excels in areas like this, and they’ve certainly nailed the wheel design here—these wheels are the true showstoppers. The intricate detailing and proportionate design elevate the entire model. The additional orange brake calipers are a subtle but powerful detail, adding a welcome pop of colour and giving the model an extra edge of realism.

As for the interior, while there’s nothing groundbreaking, GT Spirit stays true to form with its reliable attention to detail. The dashboard, center console, and seats are all executed with precision, providing a faithful representation of the real car – though surely simplified… It’s the small touches that count, and they’re all present here, even if not overwhelmingly remarkable.

All in all, this is a solid release from GT Spirit, blending aesthetic appeal with attention to detail where it matters most. The model deserves more recognition, and I’m sure collectors will appreciate it more once they see it in person. Until a full-opening example is available, it’s a great placeholder…  Enjoy the pics!

Thank you for beautiful pictures – looks like a great value compared to other overpriced high end resin models. There is something simple yet beautiful about this design. Great subject matter from GT Spirit.
