PHOTO GALLERY: Solido Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)

Solido has expanded its base with a little tuner car action.  One of the latest issues comes in the form of the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34), nicknamed the Godzilla!  They also make a streetcar in Bayside Blue.  This one too features the same five-spoke wheel design.  With attention to affordability and the drift car craze this 1:18 format, a diecast metal replica will really resonate with the younger crowd.  Hopefully, they can figure out how to install the side mirrors, as they come shipped separately from the model.  We’re kidding!

As for the model the exterior is fully sealed with the exception of the two doors.  This also applies to the grille work, all fabricated with solid bits.  The paintwork is decent, though on closer inspection the decals execution does reveal its footprint.  Neat how the team remembered to include the traditional single wiper on the rear glass.  Did we mention both are a terrific platform for a project car?

There are some noticeable differences between the street and drift car, the most evident is the clear turn signals in front and the amber fitted on the street edition.  We also like the Japanese style plates found on the street version too.  Inside, the interior level of detail isn’t AUTOart as one would guess based on the target audience.  The street version does provide Silver pattern seat and door cards with only seat-belts provided in the rear, while the drift car has a racing harness in front to boot!  At less than 60 euros they are clearly on point.  Enjoy the pics!
