Raceland/Spark Special Edition – Porsche 962C Valvoline

Raceland’s latest special edition piece is the 1:43 Porsche 962C Valvoline/Jim Beam, SAT1 Supercup, Norisring 1989 – as driven by Walter Lechner.  The model is developed in co-operation with Spark models.  Only 300 pieces will be issued, each individually numbered.  Retail is set at 64.95 Euro.

About the Porsche 962C Valvoline…  “Austrian Walter Lechner’s Racing School had been the elite training ground for young racing talents such as Stefan Bellof or Karl Wendlinger who even managed to proceed to Formula 1. But Walter Lechner sr. was a devoted and successful sports car racer himself as well. With support from the Jim Beam Whiskey distillery and the well-known Austrian exhaust specialists of Sebring Exhausts he entered a Porsche 962C for the 1989 ADAC SAT1 Supercup season run in Germany with an additional race at Silverstone where Lechner finished 3rd. The Norisring asked for a different set up so the team changed the front of the car using additional flaps on both sides and – curiously enough – forgot to install the left headlight.”
