A letter from Schuco highlights from this year’s Toy Fair and what’s on the horizon for 2016. We appreciate their focus on creating more “diecast” models in 2016. “Dear Schuco fans,

This year, the world’s leading toy fair will once again be held in Nuremberg, with toy manufacturers and exhibitors from around the world showcasing their new releases for 2016. The unveiling of lovingly crafted miniature models is a particular highlight in the calendar and looked forward to with great enthusiasm by toy fans and model enthusiasts alike.

Collectors of the legendary Schuco Piccolo models can get excited about, among other things, four new releases. In 2016, collectors will have to find space in their Piccolo display cabinets for the Dodge Charger, the Mercedes-Benz -/8, the legendary Mercedes-Benz SSKL racing car and the long-awaited VW T1 twin cabin. Following on from the well received Piccolo collector’s catalogue in previous years, the third edition will include all the new generation Piccolos, plus the 2015 versions. The hardback edition comes in a set together with a VW T1 twin cabin.

A special highlight at the 2016 Schuco stand will be the new “PICCOLO POP ART EDITION I”. Drawing on the Pop Art style of the 1960s, the models are a real eye-catcher due to their bright and extremely colourful designs. Each SCHUCO Pop Art Edition is available in four different colour schemes and very limited editions. The Piccolo Pop Art Collection includes an art print of the Pop Art vehicles limited to just 500 copies.

The Schuco Classic tin toy range sees the return of the Mercedes-Benz 170 V flat-bed truck as a “Schuco promotion car”, which is strictly limited to just 500 models. The Auto-Union Streamliner racing car “Studio VI” has never before been produced without wheel housings and now complements the Schuco Classic tin toy range.

This year, the Schuco Edition 1:64 will again present six interesting new models, including the classic Porsche 356 Carrera 2, the Volkswagen T3, the Land Rover Defender and the Volkswagen Golf I GTI. Due to their exquisite attention to detail and metal chassis, the die-cast models of the Edition 1:64 are a cut above the rest and offer young collectors the perfect introduction to the fascinating world of model cars.

In 2016, the Schuco Edition 1:43 is again proud to showcase many new models. A brand new development on the 1:43 scale is the VW T1a Transporter. Interesting vehicle combinations, such as the Opel Olympia “Messerschmitt Service” with a trailer loaded with a Messerschmitt Cabin Scooter or the VW T2a box van “Kreidler Service” with a bike trailer and a Kreidler Florett, and attractive new editions, such as the Hanomag Kommissbrot or the BMW 3.0 CSL, ensure a variety of models to choose from in this popular scale.

The key scale for models of agricultural utility vehicles is 1:32, and Schuco has two brand new models up its sleeves for fans in 2016. Collectors of agricultural models can now enhance their collections with the Güldner G60/G75 A and the John Deere 6400. The two vehicle combinations, the Lanz Bulldog with a threshing machine from “Ködel & Böhm” and the Lanz Bulldog with a “Schenker & Co.” furniture trailer, are particularly attractive additions to the Edition 1:32.

Just like last year, Schuco will again focus its attention on 1:18 scale metal models with functioning parts. Six new models will be available in this key range alone. Models such as the Porsche Cayman GT4, the Porsche Targa 4 GTS, the Volkswagen T1 flat-bed truck, the VW T3 Club Joker with folding roof and the impressive Mercedes-Benz O 3500 Coach are sure to become firm favourites with many collectors.

The popular Opel Blitz racing transporter “Porsche”, on a scale of 1:18, is made of resin. Further outstanding highlights of the resin sector include the Porsche Master, the Isocarro flat-bed truck and the BMW models BMW Turbo 1972, BMW 3.0 CSL “Hommage” and BMW M1 “Hommage”on a scale of 1:18.

Exotic prototype vehicles, such as the Ford GT 40 camera car from the movie “Le Mans”, the Chevrolet Blazer “Amity Police Department”, the VW T1 Samba “Woody” with lovingly crafted wood paneling or the Porsche plantation tractor, will be joining the Schuco ProR43 range together with other highly interesting resin models on a scale of 1:43.

Besides the now legendary 1970s scooter, the Vespa PX 125, the 1:10 scale motorcycles present an NSU Quickly, limited to just 1000 models, and an elaborately hand-modelled rider. A real highlight for every model motorcycle collection!

In the HO/1:87 locomotive scale, model sports car enthusiasts will have a field day with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S. The new version of the Mini Cooper is another ‘must have’ model for every Schuco collector. Fans of small-scale agricultural vehicles will be delighted with the now available models, such as the Porsche Junior with a rollbar and a cutter bar or the Lanz Raupe.

The “Military 1:87” models are a brand new product line of the Schuco range. The stand-out models of this new series, in which the main components of the models are made of metal, are the infantry combat vehicle Marder 1A2 and the Mercedes-Benz truck LG 315, which is now available for the first time on a scale of 1:87.

The “Schuco Aviation” product group, which has become more and more popular, is being boosted this year with the addition of a number of interesting new planes on scales of 1:600 and 1:250.
