There is much to cheer if budget-friendly offerings are in your mix. Solido has issued photos of a good assortment of 1:18 releases for Q4 2021. An excellent mix of race and street, some unique livery and subjects too. What is your shortlist? The feature model finds the sexy livery of the Porsche 935 Mobydick 24H Le Mans 1982, a first in 1:18 scale? Also, one of their best, well, in our opinion is Shelby Mustang GT500 in uber-cool exterior Dark Highland Green!

Hallo Diecastsociety team,
The back of the Porsche 935 is rong , the back of the spark model is correct.
I hope that the model you show is not the release model.
Peter.
Peter, we doubt the correction would be made. Hopefully, they read the comments or you can send them a note via their many media channels!
I can’t see them changing it. They’ve used the tooling from the previous Martini version and just repainted it. At the end of the day they’re cheap models, and tooling costs a lot of money. I suspect it’s just not feasible to replicate race-specific bodywork on models that sell for £50 when it’s something that’s an intrinsic part of the casting.
Bit of a shame though as it would be seriously desirable if it was accurate!
Although I agree with some of your points, I’d argue that it’s not the same mold 100% as th Martini one, they have changed the doors/intake, which, although not perfect, is way more than some brands that cost 3 or more times more, don’t bother doing. They did the same with the roof intake of the Mclaren F1. So kudos to Solido for that.
