We’re not sure if this is 1:18 or 1:12, we’ll lean on the smaller… Sun Star with Tiny will release a limited edition of 1500 Mini Cooper S #37, drivers P. Hopkirk and H. Liddon – Winner Rally Monaco 1964. This model is to hit shelves in June 2024.

Logic is telling me it is definitely 1:12…
Agree with Marek. There’s no way that’s 1/18. I can’t remember the last time Sun Star released something based on new tooling (I’m not up on their classic US cars but their rally and modern road cars are all repaints nowadays) and they already have 1/12 Mini tooling.
It also doesn’t look like a 1/18 based on Sun Star’s typical QC and fit & finish.
Yup, I wish it was 1:18 but based on what SunStar’s baseline 1:18 quality it’s probably 1:12. ‘Mini cooper rally’ looks out of place too…
I hadn’t looked closely enough to notice that – guess they had issues licensing the Monte Carlo rally. It’s weird if the ACM can still block the use of it 70 years later.
How can it be limited to 1500 if it’s 1:12? They had the exact same car (#37, albeit with “Rallye Monte Carlo” on the bonnet instead of “Mini Cooper Rally” six years ago.
Was the last one in collaboration with Tiny?
I’m sorry, I don’t know about that. Only that it is a Sun Star.
These are 1:12
They have or will be released in three stages
No.1 – No.559 issued
No.560 – No.1060 issued
No.1061 – No.1500 due 2024 – 2025
