Sun Star Mazda 6 Sport | 1:18

Not sure who is inspired by a Mazda 6 Sport replica, but if you’re interested, Sun Star has one coming in October 2026.  This metal opening piece will be available in three colours, they include: Violet Gray Metallic, Glacier Silver Metallic and Sonic Blue Metallic.  That’s not all; Sun Star will issue the 1:18 Ford Escort Mark III Ghia 1983 in Diamond White (LHD).  Again, an October 2026 release date!

    I think it’s a Mazda 6 (not a 3). Nice model.

Well, called it. Might be a nice combo liftback+wagon. Leaning dark purple and silver respectively.

Mazda 6?? Just another reminder of how outta touch the model manufacturers are! They could have at least done the Mazdaspeed version!

I for one am happy with “normal” car models. I love being able to walk on a street and pointing to all the cars I have models of.

I agree. It’s an unusual choice but I enjoy models of everyday cars as well. Well over 20 years ago I acquired, but have since sold, a very well done model of the Mazda 6 sedan. It was typical of a lot of the dealership models for the Chinese market and was very well detailed. If the manufacturer’s name was on the model I can’t recall it. Anyway, this Sun Star model is a refreshing change up from the seemingly endless parade of the usual subject matter (Pagani, Porsche, Lamborghini etc etc…)

I believe that Chinese dealer Mazda6 would be a Paudi, though they are typically not mentioned on the model nor on the box. Same with all the Skoda, many Volkswagen, Nissan, Toyota or Honda dealer models.

Afaik that older Mazda6 model also came in yellow, which doesn’t seem to be planned for wide availability this time, sadly.

Wel said. I’ve gifted models of our old cars to some family members because of that. And similarly I have a number of models of cars I have fond memories of.
