I wish Autoart could dust off their Mach 1 mold and re-issue theirs in the same green color. It looks so great on this car.
But these SunStar molds are getting so bad…

Sunstar had a nice opportunity to make a decent Camaro IROC Z… I bought a red one. The look is not all bad, they get the right wheel design, but is way too narrow, the t-top roof fits very poorly, the front end gets the look ok with pin-less lens headlights! The paint is flat, I had to buff it up quite a bit with Tamiya fine compound. Overall it could have been way better executed and at least get to the Greenlight 3rd gen Trans-Am level of detail and finish. A flawed 1980’s icon in my eye. Maybe Auto-World could pick this up at one point in time…

Iroc-Z is a joke, sadly. The overall design is so unproportional. Well, it’s the same mold as their Z-28 which was flawed in first place. But here the previous flaws are multiplied with wannabe-Iroc-Z body panels (like front bumper) which were different in actual model. It misses proper bumper, side skirts, the engine… Making rear lights late look-alike is not enough when the whole shape of rear lights and trunk/spoiler is wrong.

Having said that all, I’m considering buying the blue one. Because that color masks the issues for a little bit. And it looks good in blue.
