Curious. I wonder how the Audis will compare with old Kyosho ones. They appear very similar.
Although I’m noticing a sorta weird rear wheel posiioning on pretty much all the photos.
At a glance these Sun Star Audis look pretty inferior to the Kyosho ones (i have a couple). The wheels look pretty wobbly as you pointed out, but also narrow and too far inset. The taillights lack depth, Shut lines of hood and trunk look large and clumsy. Front profile isn’t horrible. Difficult to see much of interior but wood grain print looks pretty bad. If it was cheap enough, maybe it would be worthwhile but if it was my money, I would just hunt for a kyosho in good condition. One thing to note my Kyosho A8 earlier version didnt age as well as the facelift ones I have: the chrome finish on the wheels has yellowed on my silver car. I guess it is a candidate for a “custom” gunmetal re-finish of the OEM wheel (or some BBS)
Funny thing is my W12 A8 from Kyosho also has deep inset and wobbly wheels. And the taillights are notoriously shallow on them as well.
That’s why these Sun Star versions look so familiar to me. It almost feels like a reused old Kyosho.
EDIT: Ok, I went and pulled out my Kyosho and it’s uncanny how all the hinges look identical, the width of the wheels as well. The lights, the grilles, even what is visible of the interior.
the one point I’ll concede is the wood print on the door cards looks better on the Kyosho (and ironically very similar to the wood print on the dashboard here in the 15th picture.
Now I’m pretty sure this is just a rebranded old Kyosho. Wonder what QA and price will be.
