Tunning Auto Model RWB One Step Closer

We highlighted Tunning Auto Model earlier this year.  Their first project, the 1:18 Porsche 911 (993) RWB “metal” replica is one step closer to your collection.  It will also be the first RWB product car in scale metal with opening parts.  Early indications is the model should be available sometime in July.  This one isn’t cheap, rumors of $550US price have been quoted.  Too rich for our blood!

If I had money to throw around, that’d be at the top of my list. But as it is, my part time job won’t pay for it.

It is what I expected; like Frontiart and FX and others that will soon emerge, this is primarily meant for the chinese home market. While the rich and famous prosper in China, opportunities for making nice easy money increase. Not taking anything away from the quality they produce, but we all know what production cost in this part of the world is like. Another sign of this are the limited issues of the italian brands built for asian resellers for twice the european price. I choose to ignore it, at least until prices drop to an affordable level. It happens every once in a while, but you have to be alert.

So now we know how much more it will probably cost to have a metal version of a sealed resin model. The ‘opening parts’ amounts to the two doors. No engine cover revealing a nicely detailed engine with plug leads etc. A snip at $550…….
