News today that Apex Replicas and Binate have joined forces.  Binate has officially purchased the Apex Replica brand.  The two companies will combine teams and join as one.  We don’t know the immediately impact of such a purchase, but we’re sure there are good things to come.  The official press releases for both sides can be found below.

Today we have the biggest announcement in Apex Replicas history. We can now confirm that Downies Collectables Pty Ltd, owners of Biante Model Cars, has purchased Apex Replicas Pty Ltd with both businesses being combined to operate as one single entity.

I will be staying on with Biante in a managerial role alongside Julian Fogarty with both of us committed to taking both Biante AND Apex to new heights.

Personally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of your for your support over the last 8 years which has allowed us to take Apex Replicas from a small business operating out of my garage to what it is today. Something that we are extremely proud of.

Over the next few months, we will be working hard at integrating our systems into Biante to provide the smoothest transition possible for our wholesale and retail customers. There’s a lot of work ahead of us but we are confident we can do it quickly so we can work smoothly moving forward.

Thanks again and we look forward to a very positive future with Biante Model Cars. This is somewhat of a home coming for me as my model car journey started with Trevor and Bev Young and Biante 17 years ago.

Downies would like to take this opportunity to make a very special announcement. In December 2017 the Downie family acquired Biante–Australia’s foremost Die Cast Model Car collectables business. We are now similarly proud to announce a further important acquisition in the Model Car market – that of APEX Replicas.

Apex Replicas is a business run by passionate enthusiasts; it operates under the same values that have underpinned Downies for over 85 years and Biante for 20 years. In fact, Richard Poole, Apex’s owner, was an integral part of the Biante team from 2001 to 2009 having been employed by original owners Trevor and Bev Young.  He joins us again to continue to develop great modal cars at affordable prices.

The core Apex Replicas team in Perth will still handle day-to-day operations of the business, and the improved warehousing will be domiciled in Downies Melbourne fulfilment centre.
