The LCD Models version of the 1:18 diecast metal Pagani Huayra took the collector community by surprise. Well, the model is back in four colours, each focused on the carbon fibre theme, they include Carbon Fiber Black, Carbon Fiber Blue, Carbon Fiber Purple and Carbon Fiber Red. I just might need to upgrade to the Carbon Fiber Black, just lovely. Though it would have been a nice touch to move away from the multiple coloured wheels based on the first batch of colours. The first production samples are due to arrive in March 2023.
Product# TBD
Great news, no surprise. The carbon-fibred model in purple appeared as a sample on photos before the model was finally released in plain paint, which came as a disappointment. I will mow be able to finish my project.
Great specs, but LCD needs to stop with this different wheels sillyness!
Agreed, the purple one needs golden rims on all four corners.
Interesting….. It seems they corrected their major fup with the carbon completely missing from the door sills and the side of the monocock on their previous model. Considering their previous versions were sold on the US market at prices equal or higher than AutoArt, how much would these new versions retail for, considering they have quite a bit more carbon work involved, which comes at a higher man-hours price inevitably. It blows my mind that they are investing in the carbon application while they continue to cut corners with their half ass interior and wheel/tire combos. This is one of the very few cases when the term “Skins” is appropriate for the model. Because they are basically having just new “skins”, so to speak, while the interior still stays identical in color and detail for all the different exterior colors, which is a total cost saving BS tactic. Same goes for the wheels/tires and brake calipers. It is really laughable to include a gimmicky “shift-knob” screwdriver with a six speed manual pattern on its handle, for a car that only comes with a seven speed automatic, but not invest in proper interior paint that does not look like latex for a yard fence. And on top of that is absolutely identical for every color.
I bought a white one some time back and I got an AutoArt pearl green one. The Autoart model is far superior to the white one. The addition of carbon in the monocock’s sides narrows the gap, but in my opinion Autoart’s model is still better in many regards.
I am doing a comparison review on it and then it is off for sale. I’ll give the forum priority on first dibs, before it goes on “the bay”.
Dont know the Autoart Huyara Roadsters went for 150usd which is what i paid for my LCD Huyara shipped to my door. Anyways, your loss ;)
That is a question moving forward. These models aren’t far apart and based on price alone the LCD piece is by far the better value. The team went into detail on this back in April 2021:

Cool story bro! If it only was true……
When the Lcd models first came out, they were not available on the US market. Not a single diecast, model, hobby or whatever you want to call it distributor or retailer ws selling these models. I can only speculate, but something tells me that it probably had something to do with licensing. Some people managed to get some pieces here in America at a lower cost through chinese “snake oil dealers” (read Ali Express and the likes). And even then these models did not go for $150 after shipping and taxes.
Now forward about six months later, when these models were still not distributed in US. That’s when I got really interested in them because of a review on here. It was written by Stephane on August 2020, right when the model came out and it is a very unbiased and honest review. (which for some reason is never the one referred to by “the Team”).
“The Huayra Roadster is sold at 980 RMB or about $145 USD in China. The seller was asking for $180 USD shipped by DHL. Once delivered in Canada it set me back the equivalent of $200 USD including duties.” is what Stephane had to say two years ago. Here’s the link, where one can read up on that review:

About six months later, in March 2021, after looking for this model everywhere, I found out that I can only get it in white and from Ali Express. After shipping and taxes it took almost full two months to arrive at my door. At this point I was almost sure it will never come. I was happy that it did show up, but basically any illusion that I would be able to return it if anything was wrong with it, as long gone. And it cost me $265.
To keep everything fare and to be able to compare apples to apples, I also ordered an AutoArt model at the same time. Which arrived considerably better packaged at my door 3 days later, from a reputable retailer, for the total sum of $283.50 after shipping and taxes. I don’t know about anyone else, but to me personally, just the better handling and timely shipping is worth the extra twenty bucks. (well, $18.50 to be exact). Then, before I even open the boxes, the piece of mind that if anything is wrong I can either return it or exchange it for no extra cost, is worth at least another extra twenty dollar bill. And for anyone who would like to argue that point, I am sure none of you take the chance and buy a model off evilbay from a guy with 75% rating to save ten percent of the price.
So I am not sure how this model is ANY better value, let alone a “FAR” better one. It takes away from AutoArt in a couple of areas, but overall it is not at the same level. And pictures can not show or explain it. You need to place both models in front of you and “play” with them a little to realize this. Which is why I bought both models at the same time to compare the overall experience. Some people are conveniently completely ignoring the fact, that objects like models are greater than the sum of their parts and should not be judged and compared solely on their rivet counts.
First, no one is discounting any review. Our article was not a review it was a comparison of the two and our thoughts on the positives and negatives. Seeing that we’ve seen hundreds of AUTOart models, LCD was quite refreshing, especially on its overall ability and price. Again, in our opinion, this is the better value, FAR better.
We had no challenges in obtaining a sample, even during its peak interest amongst fans of supercars. LCD did great some buzz, which is great. And we can already see they are affecting AUTOart’s latest efforts.
Now in 2022 will this remain the same, likely not. Based on what has surfaced the price in some markets for LCD products has almost doubled. And fixing a few sins from their initial release should not make a whole lot of difference in price.
at this point the asymmetric wheel and tyre logos colour thing is a very stupid self inflicted flaw.
It is simply a very obvious cost cutting corner they are cutting. Basically all the parts are produced identical for absolutely all the cars and then just the five or so metal parts of the shell are painted different color. It is even more annoying on their BC models, where all the decals of the stripes are identical shape and color, no matter what color car they are going on. It’s pretty much same as the original Bburagos of the past, where you could unbolt the upper metal shell, which they made in different colors, but everything inside was identical. Wheels, tires, colors, interior engine….everything. The MAistos at Costco for $16.99 don’t do that anymore. And they add3ed carbon to the sides on the chassis/monocock no and to the body. So you better believe it that they are going to retail for at least $300. At which point you may as well buy an AA, because the only thing this model had going for it was the price.
Nah, that’s simply not true. I got the green AA Roadster and the purple LCD one and the interior for starters looks better on the LCD Version. For the rest it’s so – so. Some things are better and more refined on the AA, others are better on the LCD. If they were the same price I’d say choose whatever spec you like, because none of them is far better or worse than the other. But as it stands, I got the LCD for 120€ less while getting the same amount of “model”.
Though I heavily doubt these will be as cheap as the first releases.
Sure. Here you go. I would love to hear your comments on the comparison I just posted. 150 pictures of the models side by side you can argue with.
