ACME 1968 Shelby GT500 KR Street Fighter – Midnight Blue (UPDATE)

** UPDATE ** Talking listening to the collectors voice.  Days after the announcement of the new Shelby GT500 KR Street Fighter – Midnight Blue w/ Chrome Wheels the team at ACME are placing the transmission in reverse sort of speak, the decision to revise the wheel colour from Chrome to Black was decided based on fan feedback.  We love the call to action, though the Black isn’t much better!

Dusting off the classic Mustang mould once again, team ACME brings forward another instalment of their Street Fighter series.  The car is defined as 1968 Shelby GT500 KR and wears Midnight Blue paint with massive modern chrome wheel.  It definitely is on the flashy side of things…  Full access, diecast metal are just some of the features.  This Mustang will arrive in May 2021.  Only 750 pieces will go into production.

The last time they gave the 68 shelby mustang the “street fighter” they put wheels that rotated in unison with the brake disk with the brake calipares being part of the disk itself. Basically you would have to position the wheels carefully when exposing the model to avoid having the brake calipers in weird positions. Plenty of budget brands wouldn’t make such a bad mistake, but they did apparently. At least the last time the custom wheels, had a relatively decent look albeit a being bit too large. In my opinion this time they picked a truy terrible wheel design.

What’s that thing on the boot alongside the Nitrous bottle? And I agree, the wheels are egregious

That’d be a jack in the boot.

  4. Hemi Tim says:

ACME already released a statement on Facebook that the wheels will be changed due to public outrage.
