Almost Real Pagani Zonda F 2005 – Street Version

Almost Real is back with another option for their incredible 1:18 full access Pagani Zonda F (see our review here), this one is noted as the “Street Version”.  Not many differences we can see other than the removal of exterior decal work from their initial release.  We remember this was a deal breaker for some…  The production here is limited to 300 pieces with the first examples to arrive next month.  Please connect with Racing Heroes for pre-order availability.

On a side note, we have the 1:18 Jaguar C-X75 sample on the water, full, detailed review to come!  There are also rumours of a new assortment of 1:18 metal full-access replicas of the various RUF cars, this is a good thing!  We reached out to Almost Real for further comment.

I eagerly await the Jaguar C-X75. I’ve been waiting for that one for a long time!

  2. Alex says:

Any ideas of the looong awaited Cinque and Tricolore?

This is such a crock of BS! The “street version”? What was the other one? The street version with sponsor decls? I received the model as a gift from my wife, because I could not bring myself to pay the grossly overpriced asking price. But if they wanted to milk the model I would be fine with it, if they were at least willing to spend money on a different paint and interior color. This is the exact same, identical model as what they originally cam out with, just without the sponsor decals. I still don’t understand how Almost Real makes a model for BBR (The LaFerrari die cast) and they manage to sell it at profit for almost half of this Zonda, even after they add the nice leather base and clear case. This kind of crap should be boycotted by the hobby, not welcomed.

    • Mike Wiseman says:

Yea, I don’t understand their methods… kind of convenient that they just sold out of this exact model on the bbrmodelstore exclusive models page (I ordered one of the last 2) and suddenly almost real releases 300 more without the fancy box and display…

      • Mrm says:

BBR have been known for their questionable marketing practices from before they were doing 1:18 scale. “Limited Edition”, “Sold Out”, “Preorder” etc., don’t mean jack with them.
My point was that BBR buys the LaFerrari models from AR and AR makes a profit. Then BBR buys the leather base and the clear cases from another manufacturer who also makes a profit. Then BBR invest in their own packaging and make a profit themselves. And after all the middle men the BBR marketed LaFerrari still sells for considerably less (about 30%) than what AR want for their Zonda.
Meanwhile everyone jumps on this model, bending backwards trying yo make excuses for AR and justify the price, while in the same breath bitch and moan about AAs prices going up. I’ve said it before and I will say it again. If collectors justify these prices, then companies like AuArt got to be crazy not to raise their prices. And therefore collectors can’t complain about it, when they were the very cause for the price hike.

I understand what you mean. I have the the diecast laferrari as well. I’ve yet to be able to compare the overall effort of this zonda to the laferrari. The only reason I ordered this one from BBR was because pagani and especially the zonda is one of my absolute top favorite cars. I really wanted to wait until the tricolore is released but with Almost Real’s track record that could be 10 years to never….. I wasn’t a fan of the sponsor decals on the original release. I liked this one and the extra cost for the carbon case and display wasn’t too ridiculous if you are just comparing it to the original. So the fact that with my “bbr exclusive” purchase just being 3 days in transit, I see news of the same model being released without the fancy crap, isn’t all that shocking, is a bit antagonizing

I have found many places that offered the AR Zonda at ~400€ (AN model cars : 409€, Modelissimo : 395€, Escala18 : 379€, Racing Modelismo : 369€). BBR LaFerrari’s were about 320 to 370€ new, that’s not a very big difference as opposed to what you said. You just have to search. I agree mostly with what you mentionned however, they could have released a whole new color. I own an AR Zonda, and I think it is worth the money, truely an outstanding model, probably the best modern supercar model from the last few years.

  4. H.S says:

Its exactly the same car without the sticker set on it, they need to crack the whip and get these other Pagani models out, the Cinque and Tricolore etc surely have to be next, its been forever.

  5. Mike Wiseman says:

I just received mine from bbrmodels exclusives…. I will say the fancy package is quite impressive. Worth the extra money if you like that sort of thing… but as I said earlier, news of the model without sponsor decals being released without the bbr collaboration came about 3 days after I placed my order.
