Wheels looks way to small in diameter
Agreed.
I wanted so badly to get the 250 GTO s/n 3445GT since I photographed it some years ago, but this model looks so wrong. I would have prefered it as it is right now after the reconstruction, but they went for the reproduction of how it was in 1964, with the uglier bigger central scoop, but it’s sooo much bigger than it actually was. Then the 2 holes (cooling and blinker) under the headlights are too small and the wrong shape, in the 64 bumper they were more oval, not as round. The auxiliary lights are too big. The rear vent behind the rear wheels are too small. The wheels themselves are too small and narrow, and the barrel is the wrong shape. The spoiler should be rivetted, not molded with the rest of the body, since it was a different piece. The exhausts are wrong, they should be 4 big snap tips at the back, I think it never had side exits. And the more I stare at it the more wrong things I find.
I never thought I’d say this but I guess I’ll have to wait and see if CMR does it, and better. This GT Spirit is a joke, and even more expensive since it’s an Asia exclusive.
Agreed. Honestly, I wish GT Spirit would slow down, and execute more precise replicas that flood the market with the continued stream of missed opportunties on the details. It’s paramount with static models.
Yes, this model is all wrong. I’m right with you on wishing they would slow down, and just make better more accurate models. I don’t collect doorstops, which is all this model should be used as.
It’s a real shame since it could have been so good. I mean they even opened the rear vents, unlike kyosho. Although they’re still small as I mentioned. I love the car, and I’m yet to have any reproduction of it because none convinces me…
And I agree, It’s ridiculous to ask you to preorder models with sooo many months in advance (or otherwise you won’t get them) without even seeing the models when they’re making so much flops. You know I always complain about the lack of carbon on their models. Imagine if you were to pay 150 euro (Asia exclusive) for this without seeing the pictures, and 8 months later you get this shit.
And as I said before, I looked at the pictures again, and I saw: The car shouldn’t have chrome rings around the headlights. The side windows are wrong shape too, the corner should be rounder, what the fuck is that black border underneath, etc etc
Old photos from the 1964 Targa Florio show the car didn’t have rear tail pipes, so it does make sense they were side exit pipes.
The front cooling intakes were round on the same event and the odd looking centre bonnet in take is correct. The car is much different now in restored form.
But still most of the intakes are either too large or too small, as are the auxiliary lights like you mention.
It, like a lot of GTS latest Ferrari creations, just looks odd!
