AUTOart: 2017 International Toy Fair Rumor Mill…

Only 4 days until the big show – you know, the 2017 International Toy Fair in Nuremberg.  The show runs from February 1st to 6th.  Manufacturers from all over the globe come together, for what us collectors call the super bowl event of the year.  Most manufacturers parade their assortment of new releases for 2017 and beyond.  As we had done last year, our source has provided us a few tidbits of what is coming up from AUTOart.  Read and enjoy.  Please share your thoughts, wishes, and rumours too.

For you supercar fans (our personal favourite theme) the new Ford GT will be launched in 2017.  No word on variants or specific colours, but we’re hoping for Blue and race variants as well.  A Presentation Race car would be great too!  We’re not done with Ford.  One of the most talked about cars of 2016 is the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R; yes folks, this one is in production.  Hopefully we’ll see a pre-production hand-sample on display.

Last but surely not least, AUTOart will be introducing the 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish S.  Sorry, no information to share currently, material or colour wise.

Well, we hope we added some excitement to the upcoming 2017 International Toy Fair.  Please share your thoughts and rumours of what you like to see.  Happy collecting!

    Meh! No Porsches…

With the astronomic prices of sealed 991 GT3RS’ and 911 Rs, I might as well get plastic/ABS versions with opening parts.

  2. Karsten says:

Yesss! The Ford GT! In blue with white stripes for me please! (Glad, I didn´t take the Maisto) I am hoping for a Bugatti Chiron. Neither the Burago nor the sealed MR really convince me. And not giving the Veyron a worthy successor would be a crying shame for AUTOart.

    • JS Coleman says:

The Bburago Chiron is actually not that bad, believe me. I thought it’d be rather rubbish myself – with a clunk whenever you let go of the doors, but I was pleasantly surprised.

  3. George K says:

I hate to say it, but none of this is really very exciting. I think we all know that anything new will always be “composite” and as a result, a shadow of the great AutoArt models of the past. It’s too bad, because some of these cars are beautiful. But, no plastic on my shelves.

  4. Hassan says:

More overpriced composite trash. Get back to diecast and lower your prices AutoArt.

    • Perry says:

Exactly. These announcements use to excite me but now all I think is “Great, another car for them to ruin with their lowered details, composhit material and crazy prices.”

  5. George K says:

Or at least, if you are going for a high price, make them wortwhile! I didn’t mind paying the price for that magnificent Mazda 727B, or the fantastic Alfa T33/12. Those are works of art, not plastic toys.

  6. Domee says:

I’m desperately waiting for an 1:18 Honda/Acura NSX with opening parts! Autoart did so many great japanes classics its time for some new ones! And what about a Mazda Miata ND? They already did an awesome Miata with the NC…
The only REALLY interesting release is the Aston Martin in my opinion. Wanted to buy the Vanquish anyway so the new facelifted version is even better!
Hope there will be wayyy more new releases in 2017

  7. Shallot says:

For Lambo I hope a Centenario. Really a cool stuff.
If they are still making Koenig, a Regera will be good too. Otherwise I wish HighPerformanceDiecast can do that.
Vanquish S is a beauty, and I hope more Martins such as DB11&Vulcan. Is HotWheel still on that DB10?
NSX! A topic car for sure and most Honda fan love it, at least for sake of the version 10 yrs ago
New Lincoln Continental is also goodlooking for me
McLarens begin with 5 or 6 are all stunning
New Viper, I think. In memory of her discontinue. Maisto skipped so many details.

  8. Louie LeNoir says:

I will never own a resin/composite model. Once I buy all of the die cast cars on my want list, it’s will be the end of my collecting days. Surely there will emerge a new player who will cater to us metal model collectors and I had such a love affair with AA until recently.

  9. josh says:

So none of these were confirmed at the toy fair…yet?

  10. josh says:

Well maybe later. I really do not care anyways since they would likely be overpriced and underwhelming. Actually that should be their new slogan: AUTOart overpriced and underwhelming. Really it is not much worse than “worth every cents!” WTF!!
