AUTOart McLaren Speedtail On the Water!

The McLaren Speedtail was first announced by AUTOart back in November 2021.  Well, the wait is finally over and the first three colours Frozen Blue, Volcano Red and Volcano Orange will arrive in June for us here in North America.  The last two, Supernova Silver and Lantana Purple are scheduled for August delivery.

As for the model, this one is definitely a step up in the attention to detail and accessories…  The interiors look sharp!  The added luggage with defined storage apparatus is a plus too!  Note the functional rear wind (BTW, how did they do that!?!) and functional side mirrors cameras!  Nicely done AUTOart!

That button under the back license plate is such a turn down, really ruins the clear shape of the car!

  2. Marco says:

In your opinion is it worth taking this model?

    • DS Team says:

By take, do you mean purchase? The answer is yes. We haven’t seen AUTOart go to these lengths with additional details and features like those presented above. This is on our radar, and the team will action a full review when available.

Yes, by take I mean purchase.
The model is interesting but one of the aspects that makes me desist from buying it is the lack of a motor. I know the same feature is present on the real car but I love being able to appreciate the mechanics.

        • DS Team says:

That is for you to decide. If seeing the motor detailing is paramount then likely a pass. If the Speedtail resonates on other levels, possibly a buy.

  3. Roberto says:

The orange one is stunning. But I do agree with another commentor about the button, what is that all about. Does it retract or is it always like that

    • DS Team says:

It will only retract when you press it. The button is used to actuate the rear flaps/spoilers.

On a side note, we’re quite amazed how many have noted this. AUTOart is dammed if they do and dammed if they don’t….

  4. Edib says:

One could possibly sand/cut down the rear button and use a door popper tool to pre that button.

On the fence between orange and frost

    • MRM says:

I have done exactly that with similar buttons on a couple of other models. Also on the fence between the same two colors.
Also agree that for some reason AutoArt can do no right by some people on general principle. No matter what. I personally find certain individual’s hatred for that brand infantile and downright stupid. But at the same time makes for some truly entertaining reading.
