    Sadly in composite. :(

  2. Atalante says:

Plastic re-release, LOL. That’s why I purchased a good old diecast one months ago before they become impossible to find at a decent price.

i had 3 of the “old diecast” and i can tell that each one of them had paint issue , i so happy they make it in composite i hope all the older model that they made will be composite that looks perfect and won’t have zinc past issue over the years

Over 100+ die-cast models I owns I only had a few with paint issues that I was able to correct myself. They turned out perfect. So this is a non-issue for me. I prefer 10 times the diecast models to the plastic ones.

Hi Atalante, I have some old Kiosho’s and Minichamps’ which have developed paint issues, like orange peel appareance. Would you tell me how have you fixed that problems? Thank you!

I thought the original release was a tad poor to be honest. Hopefully the new resin build will be much better as I’d still really like to add one to my collection!

This is at least the third release for this car. Composite this time? Glad they’ve gone back to using the stock wheels. IMHO silver is the weakest color. White best, followed by red.

Looks like they added some more detail.
More importantly though: it looks like this is a new form! I have the upgraded diecast version (and had a non-upgraded before that) and always thought that the front looked too skinny. It looks perfect with this version though! In general, the model looks a bit ‘fatter’, more substantial, just like the real car. Look at the lower door line, it is much more inclined than the original version. Much more like the real one.
Thinking of exchanging my diecast one for this… After all, wasn’t the real one’s body made out of fiberglass?

AutoArt’s recent diecast re-release of the Jaguar E-Type was a nice surprise and I clicked on this article hoping for another diecast re-release. Too bad.
