Fans of BBR models have just confirmed the 1:43, 1:18 and 1:12 scale addition of the custom Ferrari 812 Competizione. This one is a select customer creation in Matt Black featuring the Monaco Principality flag and #16 on both sides. No official word on a release date has been provided.

This announcement here got me excited and send me to check the BBR store site. Just to find out that it is wrongly formulated on here. So, this is just a regular 812 Competizione, which is painted matt black. Nothing custom about it. The video underneath also makes no sense as it is of a gloss black Aperta, which is basically a completely different model in a different color spec.
It is a custom piece based on a particular bespoke customer car… And yes, the video provided is not on the actual car being made, it is a close, as there wasn’t a video on the same available. Email BBR, they provided the PR.
Nothing bespoke about the car, other than the paint. It is not a custom bespoke car. It is identical to the other 999 Competitions. It is just the only one painted Matt black with some ugly numbers on the side. This would be the equivalent of me painting my RAM flat black, putting some number 13 decals on the sides and telling everyone that I am driving a custom bespoke truck.
This is the direct description verbatim from BBR:
“The Ferrari 812 Competizione is produced by Ferrari in only 812 cars.
A customer….. ordered this stunning 812 with the flag of the Monaco Principality, with a famous number 16 on both sides.
Matt black in colour, it seems to be a transition from V8 to V12.
This model will be sold on a red leatherette base with white stitching”.
Any of the numerous 812 Competition videos all over the internet would have been closer than the video of Competition Aparta, as it is a different model.
And BBR’s questionable marketing practices, broken English translation and outright wrong info in their descriptions, all of which they have been known for years, are no excuse. Isn’t this the whole idea of forums, to get honest realistic info about the industry and the models, instead of just relying on the manufacturer’s BS?!
For those wondering
The Matt black 812 Competizione with the Monaco flag stripes is Charles Leclerc new car, there are pictures on Facebook of the car being tested ahead of it’s delivery to Charles.
So I guess it is a custom 812 Competizione, made for him since it has the same spec as his 488 Pista Spider.
Well…
Today,
There was a matte white 812 Competizione Aperta, with temporary plate from’Monaco, with a « 16 » on the side, in front of the hotel de Paris in Monaco
So…
