Naturally i think the audience of this portal, at least of the news section – aren’t into model kits. Sad fact, but many diecast collectors I know are similar to real car collectors – the models for them are some sort of currency, and if it was tinkered by someone in any way it lowers it’s value. Other people just don’t have time to build kits, and sadly I include myself into this camp. I’d love to build a superb detail model and to spend days on brake calipers, or wiring for the backside of panel with ignition/starter switches. But lack of time makes it impossible in this period of life. Although if i took all the time I’ve been lurking through diecast models on the internet, and visiting the sites and forums, I’d probably built the model already :P

Also not many people have good spraying skills, or prepared place, or just aren’t into that. I wish more professionally pre-painted kits were existing, like (i guess) these ones, or like the sublime kits from Revival.

We agree and disagree. We’ve done a Pocher kit in the past, it was an exceptional build and loads of fun. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the Eaglemoss kit is more detailed. Yes, these kits require time and patience, not all can afford the time. BUT these aren’t kits don’t need immediate attention, the build can take days, weeks or more. It like a puzzle, work on it when you can. We can go into the mental health and well-being benefits too.

What is also innovative with Eagkemoss, is their kits are shipped in stages which is collector defined, from 1-2 to kits pieces a month or more, you choose. The exterior panels/parts are also painted, again from what we see now in front of us, well done too.

That leaves us to the next topic, we’re doing a complete build of their 1:8 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. More to come!
