We have your fist look at TrueScale Miniatures 1:18 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2 #23 Daytona 24 Hours, as driven by M. Andretti and L. Bianchi. Model is completed in high end resin fashion. This classic racer is definitely easy on the eyes, the body lines are artful, and will surely appeal to fans of classic race cars. No information on release date, but we suspect late 2015, early 2016.
First Look: TrueScale Miniatures Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2

“Resin cast”? Is this some sort of resin/ diecast mix?
No no, what he means to say is “cast in resin” :)
Thanks for clarifying that.
Mario Andretti and Lucien Bianchi. Two of the great drivers of motorsport history.
T.S.M. is a company responsible for doing some very nice pieces. They also if I’m not mistaken have found a way to mix resin and die cast in one car allowing for the best of both worlds. Working, and movable pieces as well as the definition ,and clarity of resin in the molds. One such piece is the John Player Special black Lotus F1. I would have wished to see the Alfa 33/2 made this way….I suspect it’s not. If you want one that has full detail (working doors ,and complete detailed engine, plumbed and wired in 1/18) . Ricko made one that can be purchased at a really low price that is very good. If you know Ricko diecast’s often their product quality far exceeds their price. Check it out !
