I believe I was inspecting photos of Aston Martin DB5 by the same manufacturer. Seemed to be an interesting model overall, except for absolutely horrible hinges of the trunk. I believe I had not seen so ugly trunk hinges ever before, even on cheap 1:43 models, so it was a complete mystery to me why they have produced so good model with so bad trunk hinges. (And no, it is not just “dog legs” which I accept in general. On this DB5 they have used something so big and ungly, that I couldn’t stand).
it’s a terrible model, in fact the worst attempt at a DB5 I’ve ever seen. The whole front end is shaped wrong. The hood scoop is wrong shape also. There is paint mismatch on the doors and hood. The rear lights are round instead of conical. The body shell around the rear lights is way too thick (compare this with the AA prototype). The front indicators are wrong. Trunk handle is wrong shape and rear trunk latch is missing. You can see painted metal shell behind the B-pillar window instead of interior. Oversized antenna stub. Steering wheel too thick and the rivets stick out instead of being flat. Tires are crude. And then they have the audacity to charge what – $250 USD for it?
The Autoart prototype is a GALAXY ahead.
indeed the hinges on the trunk of their DB5 are something worthy of the worst samples seen on some of the recent Maistos.
That said I’d like to grab the wheels off of their DB5 and put them on the upgraded one from Autoart I have.
As for this DB12, apart from some inconsistencies in the panel gaps between the front bumper and the bonnet, it seems like a pretty good model, although I prefer the purity of the original lines of the DB11 with its massive clamshell bonnet.
