GL Model Opening Singer & More!

Finally!  A fully opening, resin, 1:18 scale Porsche Singer!  This is the Singer 964 made by GL Model.  We wouldn’t be surprised if they utilized the Almost Real mould.  Colours options, all limited to 88 units include White, Green, Gloss Black and Red.  The bad, this one will set you back $650 CND.  Not cheap and the stance is suspect based on the limited photos…

Also introduced in the 1:12 resin and sealed Lamborghini Centenario.  Colour options to come include Chameleon White, Chameleon Blue, Chameleon Green, Pearl White Yellow, Blue, Prange and Gloss White.  Production ranges from 10 – 20 units per colour.  Delivery is noted for April 2024 and the Singer will arrive in July-August.  And finally, expanding on their 1:18 resin and sealed Ferrari F40 from 2023, the team has plans to action multiple new exterior themes.  We’ll let the photos speak for themselves!

    Stance does look very suspect

    • Gandhi says:

True, the stance specially the gap of the tire-fender look too inward…For this high price, better wait for Almost Real

  2. Porsche993 says:

Almost Real has a Singer DLS mold!? Since when?

    • DS Team says:

They have a base with the RUF (964) series of models. Highly doubt this piece was a grassroots effort.

      • Porsche993 says:

How can they use the Ruf SCR when it’s not even a Porsche? The Ruf CTR Anniversary’s and SCRs are NOT based on the 964. I suggest you watch this video so you know none of the SCRs/CTR Anniversary’s are restomod 911s:

Also, if you’ve looked at the specs, the Rufs are much wider than any 964 without fender flares. If anything, these might be based on the Pop Race molds and for the prices they’re charging for these, they better scan the real thing instead of using a mold that doesn’t even have to do with the real car.

        • Al Tan says:

Totally correct. If they used the CTR/SCR as the base for these Singers; it’s not worth buying. Here’s the designer of the new Rufs saying they have nothing to do with Porsche and nothing is compatible

        • DS Team says:

The video was reviewed the first week it aired – highly recommended to all!

What you don’t know is how the RUF came about…. Again, based on the 964 platform. We said too much. We’ll connect with AR to confirm.

          • Al Tan says:

How is the current Rufs based on the 964? The only Rufs based on the 964 platform are the BR2, CR2, CR4, RCT and the EVO. I think that’s all of them. None of which has anything to do with the current chassis used by the CTR and SCR models. LOL

          • Porsche993 says:

How many times do we have to say, the new Rufs are NOT based on the 964? There is not a single 964 component in that car, much less a Porsche component. Everything is built by Ruf from the ground up on this car. Did you know that the engine is water-cooled? It is misleading to say that they’re based on the 964 because 1) the Ruf is much wider, as wide as a 997 and 2) it has a longer wheelbase than a 964 and 3) saying something is based on a 964 in Porsche parlance these days means it’s a restomod where a 964 was disassembled and modified. If you disassemble a Ruf CTR Anniversary or a new 4.0 SCR, the parts look nothing like those found in a 964. They might look like a 964 but they are not based on a real 964.

I wouldn’t even bother asking AR about anything, they didn’t even get the air scoops on the CTR Anniversary and Rodeo Concept right. Even the tray wing on the CTR has the tray from the concept version instead of the production version. /facepalm

According to the price, this is a model at the level of CMC. However, I don’t see neither CMC’s attention to details nor the materials used by CMC.

    • Al Tan says:

The details are horrible; the shape of the ducktail pictured on the green one is not even close to the real thing. 😄

      • Porsche993 says:

Good catch! It’s even worse than the wing on the Pop Race version. So far, only Timothy & Pierre and Make Up got the shape of the duck tail right.

There are too many red flags on this expensive model.

  4. the1 says:

This is advertised as opening resin, so the mold from RUF’s AR couldn’t work anyway since that was die-cast. The shape and especially the stance and wheelbase are definitely wrong.
