GT Spirit June/July 2022 Footprint

A party of eight is on tap for June/July 2022 from GT Spirit.  All models here are executed in 1:18 scale and feature a resin and static design.  For those that missed out on a few classic diecast Ferraris, the team presents two, the Ferrari F550 Maranello Gran Turismo and  Ferrari 355 GTB Berlinetta.  Both are in Red.  The surprise of the bunch is the unique S-Klub Speedster by Slang500 and Jonsibal and the champion by far is the Brit classic, the Jaguar XJ13 in British Racing Green.  We promise these are the only official images they release to us.  Enjoy!

Always wanted an XJ13, but Autoart versions are selling very expensive now and most of them have paint rashes due to age. Good that otto is offering this model now, The S-Klub is also interesting. I hope they can make the F355 in 1/12 too!

  2. Aston says:

I’m looking at painting my AutoArt-XJ 13. I’ve had it for a very long time, but there is no rash. It’s soothing

  3. Aston says:

I don’t have GT spirit models and can’t judge the quality of their product, but I think the rivets on the XJ13 are clearly too big.

    • DS Team says:

      Decent, mid-level resin model brand.

    • Ben says:

Yes, agree the rivets are out of proportion

    • spikyone says:

I think the rivet issue is part of a typical issue with GT Spirit. Resin models should be super sharp compared to a diecast (the intricacies of the material and manufacture method) but they usually fail on that front. For GTS it generally seems to be caused by excessively thick paint, which is a particular problem on older cars that typically have fairly thin paint as the shiny polished look is wrong.

I don’t think it’s very accurate anyway. The nose looks too stubby and the front is too bulbous.

In both those respects it’s pretty much par for the course for GT Spirit.

  4. George K says:

I have the Autoart XJ13, no paint rash at all.

  5. Kostas says:

Same here, I also have the Autoart XJ13 for many years now and no paint rash at all.

  6. SPhilli911 says:

Finally, a 911 RS America! In the color I wanted too!

  7. Gerry Williams says:

I also own an AUTOart XJ13 for 7 years and I don’t have paint rash at all. The paint has always been glassy smooth since day one.
