Ignition Model Porsche 911 (930) Turbo – Silver

Not sure if this is necessarily new, as our records show this particular beauty was highlighted as new in June 2018.  Maybe re-release.  Nonetheless Ignition model is executing another gem from the Porsche stable the Porsche 911 (930) Turbo in exterior Silver.  The results are pretty darn good!

I’m sure these resin models from Japan are nice and highly-detailed, but I just can’t stand how they take a lot of creative liberties with their replicas. I mean, just look at the stance of this thing…. the real car doesn’t sit this low. I mean, just replicate the car the way it looks like in real life. To me, this is a fantasy model than a replica.

Yeah, I agree with this comment. Looks pretty neat but it’s not accurate to the real car, too low and wheels too large. The best replica of the 930 is the Autoart versions which also have opening parts.

I agree that overall, the Autoart 930 3.3 is the best replica out there in 1:18, although I feel like the shape of the car is not correct (I have the black model). When you look at the model’s profile, it seems like the front is short while the rear’s been elongated a bit. IMO apart from the off road tires, Norev’s version is the most accurate.

What we’ve learned long ago, no company will execute a perfect model – read the comments on the latest effort from CMC, priced at $900 CND. In short, each will need to decide what their deal breaker is.

Oh, you’re preaching to the choir here! I’ve been collecting for 20 years now and it’s really about one’s tolerance to faults and quirks on these models. You gotta take the good with the bad in this hobby. I’m still waiting for a manufacturer to properly do 996 Turbos, GT3s (both .1 and .2) and GT2s. AutoArt botched the shape of all these models, yet they sell for a very high premium these days because they’re the only ones available. I got mine for the low, low prices back in the day and will keep mine around until somebody gets the overall shape right, with opening bits of course!

What I’m saying is there’s been plenty of time in between when some of these older models were made and now and there’s always the opportunity for a manufacturer to get things right with the technology we have now (3D scanners, 3D printers, etc.) The particular model above is a swing and a miss!
