If IXO is planning to make their 1/18 models in resin with no moving parts or rolling wheels at all, IMO, this is gonna be a humungous step backward for the car model industry. I don’t care what anybody says about resin, as I hate to think this trend is scaring some customers away. But at least it keeps money in their pocket.

Great news – anything is better than Greenlight, who’ve been cranking out the same cheap looking Dallaras for ~20 years.

The worst offense being always using with the same wheel rims on the rear of the car as on the front.

  3. Simon B says:

Diecast Economics 101 – diecast is the material of choice if making 10000s of unit as the tooling can be re-used. Resin is used where quantities are smaller and enough units won’t be sold to recoup tooling costs.
Given Indycar use the same chassis with race/engine specific aero, I can’t see resin being viable for these cars.

  4. Glenn says:

But WHEN will they be released and what’s the word on a “Palou 500 Winner”?
Greenlight was always prompt with mfg./delivery & announcements.
