If you have been collecting the unique and unusual BMW scale art cars since back in the day, there is a new one just made available in 1:18 scale. The 19th entry of the BMW Art Car series is the BMW M6 GTLM John Baldessari developed by Kyosho. From what we can tell the model is crafted in diecast with a sealed-body design. We’ve included a neat video of how the actual car went from concept to design. Enjoy!
Product# TBD
Do we know when it will be available? I assume from BMW dealerships?
Yes, dealer exclusive, though some establised retailers, like of site sponsors should bring it into stock too.
The real car has Baldessari’s signature on the top. I did not see the signature on this image, but I see it on other images with the modelcar on the ebay. There are 2 variants, with and without Baldessari’s signature? Thank you very much for your reply.
Gentlemen, many thanks. I have had a good rummage around ebay and have found a number of BMW franchised dealerships selling these. I spoke to the dealer, I am assured that it is an accurate likeness of the real art car and will therefore have the signature.
Thank you very much for the information!
I received the model last week, I can confirm the signature is present on the roof.
What a pity that kyosho used a GT3 base, there is a few differences with the GTLM version (small spoiler on the trunk not present, hydraulic plug on the rear).
But it is a nice model with photo etched parts, carbon fiber and nice details.
That is pretty poor on their part. Unacceptable.
Of all the beautiful Art Cars over the years that is number 19????
My local Car Wrap Shop could be more inventive! I see Kyosho are so bored they couldn’t even do it with opening doors!
There are many of the Baldessari BMW Art Cars on eBay, but they are made of resin, and missing the acrylic box. All my other BMW Art Cars have been diecast metal. Is this one actually made of resin? Is BMW no longer including the book with each Art Car?
