LCD Model has heard our call for more exterior colour options for their McLaren Senna GTR. However, the option of Black as presented here would not be our first choice. Come on, LCD, tease us with some unique options! This model isn’t coming until Q4 2026. Does that mean other projects are taking priority?

For me every model (from Ferrari, throughout Porsche to BMW) should mandatorily be able to deattach the rear engine section to uncover the essence of the car
Of course you can make that mandatory … for your collection by simply not buying any model that doesn´t tick that box. It will probably not impress manufacturers, though, as long as they can sell to other collectors instead.
There are plenty of cars where that’s not possible in real life though. You mentioned Porsche: you can’t access the engine of a Porsche 992 from above, there’s only a flap that opens to allow you to top up fluids.
So for me the best modern era Porsches are 993, 996, 997 with more unveiled engine section.
E.g. recent AutoArt Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS 1973 engine looks fine, however it’s golden era (not my favourite)
There are some diecast with far unveiled rear engine section like AutoArt McLaren P1 or incoming LCD McLaren Senna. But the list if far too short.
Advantage of the diecasts is exactly to show more than 1:1 real thing can unveil. Manufactures completely ingnore that. Lego seems to understand that better only
So you’d prefer to be able to disassemble a diecast model in the way that isn’t possible on a real car? I don’t think there’s any sort of demand for that from other collectors, and it would make diecast even more expensive than they already are. On those McLarens you mention, removal of the rear is possible on the real cars – but not by owners, it’s purely for maintenance purposes. Lego isn’t really comparable because you’re building the entire car and the whole point of Lego is that you can assemble and disassemble the parts.
That what in unveiled in this McLaren is already satisfactory. The same idea as in AutoArt McLaren P1 and incoming BBR Ferrari F80 – full rear part can be easily deattached and that’s hit the spot
I still don’t understand. Are you advocating for “things that can be opened on real cars should be openable”? Because that’s what’s already happening, and you’ve just given examples.
Or are you asking for it to be possible on all models, even where it’s not possible in real life?
LCD are probably aiming to offer the same colours as what AA have announced, beating them with speed to market and detail in order to take every last customer for the GTR.
A the same time it´s a good sign of them probably adding more colours for their Revuelto, too.
They should just keep the engine bay sealed if it is going to look that bad.
Well, as a not fanatic McLaren fan I can say it’s pretty nice engine. But I would prefer F1 LM or MP4-12C from McLaren
Looks like that’s just the heat shielding of the exhaust. You can see a little bit of the transmission and the frame but the engine is much further in, against the bulkhead
