Make Up is releasing a limited edition 1:43 Porsche, this one is defined as the 911 (964) Carrera RSR 3.8 Test Paul Richards. The price isn’t cheap, just under $300 CND. Does anyone know the significance of this Porsche? Let comment below.

Personally I prefer AutoArt’s 1:18 Porsche Wangan Midnight “Blackbird” to this. AutoArt’s model is 1:18, fully openable, thus surely more detailed and it is cheaper than this 1:43 MakeUp model!
In the same time, I know a guy who sold a wonderful AutoArt 1:43 Lamborghini Countach (very detailed and fully openable one) to buy a more expensive MakeUp 1:43 Countach instead. So there’s must be something special in these expensive 1:43 MakeUp models… Personally I’ve never seen one in flesh.
Make Up models are a step up from resin models like Spark , but whether they are worth the upcharge of 3 -4 times the price is up to the buyer . The models are exquisite – really little jewels . Some models ( I collect their Porsche models ) are more intricate in their detail – ones with chrome window trim for example . All have beautiful finishes and decals on race versions are cleared over adding to the overall high quality look . The wheels are multi – piece which put a lot of 1/18 and 1/12 models to shame . The prototype for this 964 RSR 3.8 test car is significant in the history of the marque as these cars in customers hands netted wins in many series around the globe . This model is being sold direct only by Make Up so it’s a pain to get one , but I felt is was worth having .

Thanks for the insight. A team member recently pre-ordered their 1:18 Singer example. Not available until September, hopefully, we’ll review in detail. I wonder how they compare to BBR?
